A us-regions high school education has been taken into custody after he was found to be carrying a personal-freedoms with a loaded magazine on a school bus, a sheriff’s office said.

Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten told a news conference on Wednesday that the education” target=”_blank”>student<
Wooten said the assistant principal told the school resource officer, who searched the student and found the rifle and marijuana before taking the student into custody.

Both the middle school and high school were placed on lockdown to allow crimepersonnel to conduct searches, Wooten said.

The sheriff’s office is seeking juvenile petitions on a number of charges, including felony and misdemeanor possession of a firearm on school grounds, according to the sheriff.
